APOA 2025 Success!
2025 was a banner year for APOA volunteers:
Implementation of Firewise, a nationally recognized community wildfire risk reduction program, including:
Community-wide risk assessment.
Homeowner education presented by West Metro Fire Rescue.
Receipt of an Applewood Community Foundation grant to promote wildfire mitigation of Applewood homes
Recognition by the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) of Applewood’s 3-year plan as a Firewise community.
Special thanks to Tom Welle of West Metro Fire Rescue for his support of our successful NFPA application to become a “recognized” Firewise Community.
Holiday Tree Lighting Event at Maple Grove Park attended by 200+ adults & children. Thank you to our local business Schulhoff Tree & Lawn Care for lighting the trees!!
Slash Day 2025 netted 186 cubic yards of slash removed from Applewood West yards.
Communications Initiative to improve our connection with our members, including a new interactive website at www.myapoa.org, adoption of a new logo, and a goal to become more electronic with our communications.
