SLASH DROP OFF
Protect Our Neighborhood:
Annual Slash Drop-Off Event
Wildfire safety starts at home, but it protects the whole community. As part of our Firewise efforts, the APOA is partnering with the Prospect Recreation & Park District to make it easier for neighbors to create "defensible space" around their homes.
Removing "slash"—flammable vegetation near houses, pruning low tree limbs, etc.—is the single most effective way to slow a wildfire and give firefighters a fighting chance to protect our property. To support your mitigation efforts, we have organized a dedicated Slash Drop-Off site right here in our community.
