32nd Ave & Youngfield Improvements
Crews will be working on 32nd Avenue under the I-70 bridge beginning Monday, April 20, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. Work includes relocating a stormwater drain and pouring new curb and gutter along eastbound 32nd Avenue.
What to expect:
• Lane shifts in the area
• One-lane closure on eastbound 32nd Avenue under I-70
• Shoulder closures
• Sidewalk closures
Traffic impacts will be in place 24/7. Drivers should use caution, especially when turning onto 32nd Avenue from side streets, and follow all posted signage. The traffic control plan includes a shift to a single lane and restricted turning movements near Zinnia Court and Alkire Court.
Additionally, the City of Wheat Ridge’s Youngfield Street Beautification project will identify and implement aesthetic improvements along Youngfield Street between 30th and 40th Avenues, focusing on the area between Youngfield Street and I-70. This project is funded by the City of Wheat Ridge’s Urban Renewal Bond. In April, an artist began painting along Youngfield near 32nd Avenue, marking the start of a new visual addition to the corridor. There are five anticipated areas of improvement along Youngfield Street, including at the eastbound I-70 off ramp, 32nd Avenue, eastbound I-70 on ramp, north of the on ramp, and at 40th Avenue.
