I70 Closures at Kipling & Garrison
Westbound: 7pm, Friday, Sept. 18 to 6am, Tuesday, Sept. 22
Eastbound: 7pm, Friday, Sept. 25 to 6am, Tuesday, Sept. 29

Max Plumb Memorial Golf Tournament

The Max Plumb Memorial Golf Tournament, now in its 7th year, is more than a day on the course. Hosted by the Applewood Community Foundation, this heartfelt event brings neighbors together to uplift youth, support schools, and invest in stronger, healthier communities.

Come learn about NLR’s (formerly NREL) research programs to support reliable and secure energy systems, new construction on campus, and ways to stay in touch with your local laboratory. Registration required by Sept. 16.
Firewise Presentation: Marshall Fire Survivor on Insurance
Saturday, Oct. 10, 10am at Arbor House, Maple Grove Park
Lisa Hughes, a Marshall fire survivor who rebuilt her house, will share her personal story of the aftermath of the Marshall fire and provide insurance tips related to wildfire. She was the secretary of the board for the long-term fire recovery group Marshall Restoring Our Community and currently works for United Policyholders, a small consumer non-profit that offers tips to help you avoid being underinsured; provides homeowner tips on insurance shopping; suggests what to do if you get dropped; and provides information about the FAIR plan and recent legislation. West Metro Fire’s Wildfire Mitigation Specialist Tom Welle will also share information about wildfire safety and mitigation for Applewood.
Firewise FREE Slash Drop-Off

Wildfire safety starts at home, but it protects the whole community. To support your wildfire mitigation efforts, APOA and Prospect Recreation & Parks District have organized a free, dedicated slash drop-off site right in our community.
